Rita Shah Managing Director of Shabra Plastics/Recycling Ltd., a plastic recycling, reprocessing and manufacturing company based in Co. Monaghan, Ireland has been presented with the 2012 Global Enterprising Women of the Year Award, during their 10th anniversary of the gala awards celebration held in March 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, USA.

Enterprising Women of the Year Awards are an annual tribute to top dynamic women entrepreneurs from around the globe. This year Rita is one of only five European women business owners to have this prestigious award bestowed upon them.

“I am truly honored and blessed to have been recognized the whole way from Ireland with this truly outstanding award” said Rita Shah. “This has been a wonderful experience and has given me the opportunity to meet and share ideas and inspiration with such an amazing and diverse worldwide group of female entrepreneurs.”
In order to be recognized by Enterprising Women, award recipients must demonstrate that they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities. Many of these women are also leaders in key organizations that support the growth of women's entrepreneurship.

"The Enterprising Women of the Year Class of 2012 consists of women who have moved their companies forward and experienced revenue growth even in a time of economic uncertainty," said Monica Smiley, Publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine. "This speaks highly to each honoree's motivation, dedication and knowledge of their respective industries. Each woman is highly involved in community service and leadership, and has a track record of mentoring businesswomen and serving as a role model to young girls who would like to follow their example."
This global award recognition allows a double celebration for Rita following the recent win of her horse ‘Imperial Shabra’ at Stratford Racecourse in the UK earlier that week.

Sponsors of the 2012 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration include Office Depot; UPS, Coca-Cola, IBM, AT&T, Walmart / Sam's Club, American Airlines and PNC Bank.
