Monaghan County Enterprise Board

The key focus of the Monaghan County Enterprise Board is to support micro-enterprises (enterprises with no greater than ten employees). The manufacturing and traded services sectors are priority areas for support. Financial supports designed to assist with the establishment and or growth of small scale businesses includes feasibility/innovation grants, priming grants and business expansion grants. Enterprise IrelandEnterprise Ireland

Enterprise Ireland is the state agency responsible for supporting the development of manufacturing and internationally traded services companies. Enterprise Ireland provides funding and supports for companies – from entrepreneurs with plans for a high potential start-up through to large companies expanding their activities, improving efficiency and growing export sales. They also provide funding and supports for college based researchers to assist in the development, protection and transfer of technologies into industry via licensing or spin-out companies.

idaIndustrial Development Agency (IDA)

The IDA is responsible for the attraction and development of foreign investment in Ireland. The IDA offers a range of services and incentives, including funding and grants, are available to those considering foreign direct investment in Ireland. While investment from overseas manufacturing and internationally traded services are the broad focus of IDA Ireland, the agency continues to work with investors once in Ireland to encourage and assist in expanding and developing their business.

Cavan-Monaghan LEADER

leaderCavan-Monaghan LEADER, the primary rural development organisation in the region, is a joint venture between Breffni Integrated Limited and Monaghan Integrated Development Limited for the delivery of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 in the Cavan-Monaghan region. This Programme offers supports to facilitate the continued development of rural communities in the region. CML also administers the Rural Social Scheme which aims to provide income support for farmers who are currently in receipt of long term social welfare payments, and to provide rural communities with services that will enhance the social, physical, natural and cultural resources of their locality.

A key element of the Local & Community Development Programme implemented by Monaghan Integrated Development are the enterprise development supports offered to unemployed individuals considering self employment. MID provides tailored pre & post start-up business mentoring and training to assist you in researching and developing your business idea, and, if your business idea shows potential, we will assist you with bringing the business to life.MID administers the Department of Social’s Protection Back to Work Enterprise Allowance Schemes which provide income support for up to 2 years when you start your business, if you are in receipt of certain social welfare payments.

fasFAS, Ireland’s National Training and Employment Authority

FAS offers training courses suited to the needs of jobseekers looking for employment. FAS has increased the range of training options available to Job Seekers to assist their re-entry into the labour market. Courses, such as Specific Skills Training and Traineeships which lead to major awards on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) will continue to be offered. FAS also offers a number of short courses (typically 2 modules) as well as evening courses, online courses and blended learning courses which lead to competent certification and/or industry recognised certification.
