Grainne McElwain

McElwain gave up a secure, full-time job in teaching to take a chance on a role as researcher for a TV production company. After working her way up the ranks, the Ballinode native now enjoys a successful career as a television producer, journalist and presenter.

“Growing up, Scotstown was our playground with the complex and the GAA pitch our theatre of dreams. It was and is an industrious county with hard work engrained in all who come from the area. Music, song, family, fun, friendships, and Clones on an Ulster final day spring easily to my mind when thinking of my home county. My media career began here working for Northern Sound and though some say Is glas iad na cnoic i bhfad uainn or far away fields are green, they always find me on the road back to Ballinode.”
